The annual Carestream Advisory Board was held in Dublin in June and it was the second meeting consisting of board members from different professions, including clinical doctors as well as IT professionals. These experts arrived from key luminary sites from more than 10 countries around the world. The purpose of the Advisory Board is to present and validate the vision and future strategies of the company’s radiology and healthcare IT business.
Building a data management strategy is one of the biggest challenges for IT decision makers as healthcare becomes increasingly consumerised, while clinicians demand greater flexibility and accessibility from the technology at their disposal. Enterprise imaging has the potential to play a binding role in a data management framework that serves the complexity of today’s patient-centric, value-driven care models.
“As the largest HMO in Israel, we are about to launch a national image sharing initiative to integrate our 50 hospitals, which all currently have separate systems,” says Arnon Makori MD, Head of Imaging Informatics at Clalit Health Services in Tel Aviv. “We will prove value by improving the quality of the information, preventing unnecessary repeat study, increasing access for different medical centers, improving patient care, and increasing the visibility of the images.”
